What kills bed bugs these days? Heat? Gas? Chemical? Just what is the best bed bug killer product? Has anyone had any success with anything that really works and keeps bed bugs away? Comment and let us know. It almost seems like the bed bugs are winning. Will the EPA ever approve any new chemistry that may actually work against these bed bugs? This is the question. I would venture to say no. Recently there was a study that hit the Internet blaming modern pest chemicals for the colony collapse disorder that has been plaguing bees. Do you really think the EPA is going to approve new chemicals after that report? Better chance that they will start to take chemicals off the market. So...what's working out there?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7317495360196409303.post-28894770020723680282012-02-19T14:30:00.000-08:002012-02-19T14:30:19.462-08:00FMC VeriFi

A great new bed bug trap in on it's way and it is called the VeriFi from FMC. This product will replace the climb ups monitors I think for the simple reason that you don't have to worry about covers and sheeting falling on the floor or moving the bed away form the wall. DDT was first prepared in 1873 as a chlorinated organic insecticide. Although DDT was produced in 1873, it wasn't really used widely until around the time of World War 2 as a means of controlling mosquitoes and lice. With the help of DDT and organophosphates bedbugs became more of an occasional invader by the mid to late 1950's. Now...we are not so lucky. It would be great if the EPA would allow for some relaxed regulations to allow for a better insecticide product to be developed or make it less expensive to produce such a chemical. DDT was a dangerous and deadly chemical, but it was also extremely misused. We need a bigger boat.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7317495360196409303.post-251110595317956712009-06-05T16:50:00.000-07:002009-06-05T16:53:12.796-07:00Bug Zip

Bedbugs can get into or onto just about anything at any point in time. The three tools that we would need would be a spray that is formulated using a different chemistry from the ones we presently have. Two would be a growth regulator specific to bed bugs that is potent enough to break the cycle. Three would be for a bed bug specific pheromone trap. These three things would work wonders in a treatment and they are three things we presently lack. I know there is work being done in the field of a pheromone trap, so we will see what the future holds.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7317495360196409303.post-75317890111052829982008-11-09T15:56:00.000-08:002008-11-09T15:59:29.035-08:00CDC 3000 Bedbug Trap

The CDC 3000 or the Cimex Detection Case 3000 manufactured by Cimex Science. Of course heat treatments like this can be expensive, but this is just an unfortunate reality of bedbugs and their treatment. There are other companies that offer the same service, but the idea is the same. Think of it along the lines of fumigation without the poisons. It's a kind of a green treatment if you will. The science is behind heat treatment for bedbugs and it is a tool that I think will catch on, especially in cluttered apartments or dorm rooms, as it makes it easier to treat these areas without too much preparation.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7317495360196409303.post-3973128486502851912008-08-25T14:58:00.000-07:002008-08-25T15:02:08.430-07:00Bed Bug Luggage Spray

JT Eatons has done it again. Dr. Potter and Rick Cooper. One thing they went over was what products worked and what products did not work, and one product that got some good comments was Bedlam. They agreed that Bedlam bedbug spray worked on killing the eggs as well as the adults which is the most important thing when trying to break a life cycle. I've seen Bedlam for sale on do it yourself bedbug control product websites as well as over the counter pest control supply stores. This should be used as the label states, the label is the law.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7317495360196409303.post-26250876720318146582008-08-02T17:40:00.001-07:002008-08-02T17:43:40.881-07:00The best bedbug control productsThere are a boat load of bedbug control products on the market these days from DIY products to professional pest control products. Where can you buy these products? Most you can get online at directly from the manufacturer and others like the professional products can be bought from online Professional pest control products website that sell to the Do it yourself er. It is hard to say which product is better than the other, at this point all you can do is experiment yourself or hire a professional, who might not get it right the first time either. Research is your best key and trial and error. The mattress cover will prevent bedbugs from entering the cracks and crevices on the mattress or the box spring where they hide and multiply, and the mattress cover will also trap any bedbugs that are already on the mattress or box spring. These covers allow the homeowner a option other than throwing away their beds. It is much less expensive to buy a mattress cover on a website than it is to toss your bed. Be sure that when you order your mattress covers to get the right size and to buy one for the mattress and one for the box spring. It must zipper and be specific to bed bugs or dust mites. These can be bought on any mattress cover website. Good luck and we will prevail.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01970765117350021317noreply@blogger.com0
